Abstract
Effectiveness of Drama Activities on 4th Grade Students to Gain Cooperation and Respect Values
In this study, it is aimed to examine the effects of drama activities on gaining such
values to be given within the primary school curriculum as cooperation and respect values,
which is new and current value in education studies, of 4th grade students. This study was
conducted in the framework of quasi-experimental design with pre-test post-test control
group. The sampling is totally 30 4th grade students attending İsmet Ömeroğlu Primary
School in Agri province. The analysis of the data was made in the SPSS program and the
t-test technique was used. The study consists of three basic stages. In the first stage, pretest
was used to determine the values planned to be given by the drama activities of the
students. In the second stage, drama activities were done. In the third stage, the final test
was applied to determine the effectiveness of the drama activities. According to the data
obtained after the application, it was found that drama activities in 4th grade students
were effective in gaining cooperation and respect values. Drama activities were effective
in gaining the values of cooperation and respect, provided active learning conditions and
made lessons entertaining, increased motivation of students and made them more active
during the courses.
