Abstract
Investigation of Teacher Candidates’ Self-Efficacy Belief Levels According to Intelligence Types
The purpose of this study is to investigate the teacher candidates' levels of teacher selfefficacy
beliefs in terms of various variables and to determine the relationship between
teacher self-efficacy level and intelligence types. The sample of the study was conducted
by 440 teachers candidates’ enrolled at the fourth grade in different departments at the
Faculty of Education of Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University. The data of the study was collected
by using “Teacher Self-efficacy Belief Scale” developed by Dellinger, Bobbett, Olivier and
Ellet (2008) and adapted to Turkish by Şahin Taşkın and Hacıömeroğlu (2010), and using
“Multiple Intelligence Scale” developed by McClellan and Conti (2008) and adapted to
Turkish by Babacan and Dilci (2012).According to results obtained from data, it was found
that,the self-efficacy level of teacher candidates showed significant differences according
to gender and education variables seen in section, but there was no significant differences
according to the academic success score, the presence of a teacher in the family and the
willingness to come to the department. In addition, there was no correlation between the
intelligence types of the teacher candidates and the level of teacher self-efficacy.
