Abstract
Determining the Nomophobia Levels of Teacher Candidates
The aim of this researchis to investigate the Nomophobia levels of students receiving
education at Siirt University Faculty of Education in 2018-2019 academic year. The
research was designed through survey model which is one of the quantitative research
methods. The study was carried out with 282 teacher candidates through convenience
sampling method. The research findings indicated that teacher candidates had medium
level nomophobia, the nomophobia levels of the teacher candidates did not change
significantly with respect to their ages and genders but the nomophobia levels of the teacher candidates changed significantly with respect to their departments and classes. As
a result of the study, it was concluded that the nomophobia levels of the teacher candidates
were not high. On the other hand, it was concluded that the inability to communicate
dimension and the inaccessibility of information dimension led to high levels of anxiety
and concern among the teacher candidates.
