Abstract
The Phenomenon of Death And Patıent Relatıves’ Attıtudes Towards Death
As a biologically ordinary phenomenon of human life, death is an existentially important
fact. It is also the source of anxiety and fears because the lack of the feedback from those
who experience it cause an obscrutiy and it is perceived as the end of everyting. Because
of this feature, it is one of the oldest interests of man and a subject where philosophy and religion discuss the most details. These opinions are briefly based in the introduction
part of the article. As a source of anxiety and fears, the attitudes towards death appear
as an important factor. In the article, the main ones of these attitudes such as the desire
for immortality, the denial of death, the challenge of death, the desire for death, the
acceptance of death and the mourning are examined in terms of their relationship with
the fear of death. Afterwards, the characteristics of people related to death at various
developmental stages are revealed based on the researches. Finally, it was tried to
determine that the process of patient relatives were in related to death bring out which
reactions based on the literature.
