Abstract
Evaluation of Family Practice Application in the Context of Health Communication and Erzurum Province Example
Health communication is a new and up-to-date field that covers a wide range of
comprehensive studies. From internal self-communication to health communication
campaigns in the media, all studies related to health are in the discipline of health
communication. In short, all activities, that aims to protect, sustain, improve and create
a permanent consciousness of human and community health, are all within the field of
health communication. Health communication which is regarded as one of the highest
values in developed countries, is a discipline field in which the scope of academic
studies is expanding gradually. Developed countries are in a struggle for achieving more
efficient results by dividing health communication into subheadings. These countries have
developed different communication methods for interpersonal communication where the
patient-physician relationship takes place, for mass media studies, for health marketing,
and for public spot studies. Since health has started to be seen as an element of quality of
life, which provides efficiency in individual, social and economic terms, the importance
of health communication has gradually increased and detailed approaches have emerged
even on the subheadings. In order to fact that the importance of communication for people,
society, country and the world, it is thought that proper health communication studies
will be beneficial for humanity. Communication has become important in issues such as
preventing diseases, maintaining and sustaining health, improving health and by affecting
all sciences as well as health sciences. The main problem of health communication is how
and under what conditions communication can affect people in order to improve health
and prevent diseases. How successful the face-to-face communication between the patient
and the physician in family practice practiced in our country is one of the wondered
subjects. Within this context, our study aims to determine the satisfaction of the patients
receiving treatment services from class A family health centres in Erzurum province in
communication with physicians.
