Abstract
Investigation of Pre-service Teachers STEM Awareness Levels
In recent years, Turkey as well as in other countries, continues to increase interest in
STEM education. Increasing th enumber of students who have received STEM education
has become the aim of countries whith the increasing importance of the employment of
individuals in industry. Considering the inclusion of the STEM education in our education
system, the awareness of pre-service teachers who will train the next generations is
important. This research, in which survey model was adopted, was carried out with the
participation of 306 pre-service teachers. The research data were collected with the
“STEM Awareness Scale”developed by Buyruk and Korkmaz (2014). According to the
results obtained; pre-service teachers awareness level of STEM is above average; It was
determined that there was no significant difference according to the gender factor, and
there was a significant difference according to the class level and the section studied.
