About Possibility of Abrogation with Opinion Abstract
This article explores the possibility of abrogation through ijtihad within the scope and
conditions of meaning. Bringing abrogation to the agenda by linking abrogation with
ijtihad in science circles led us to investigate this possibility. This contact is established
by Abu Mansur el-Mâtürîdî to explain the decision of Abu Bakr not to give zakat to
the muellefe-i kulub, which is one of the places where zakat is consumed. In order to
understand what the intent is, the meaning area of abrogation, ijtihad and en-abrogation
bi’l ijtihad concepts was investigated. The subject has been addressed within the framework of Mâtürîdî's understanding of abrogation, the evaluations of commentators
and studies conducted today. In the evaluation made, it has been understood that what
is expressed by en-abrogation bi’l ijtihad is not related to classical abrogation. It has
been concluded that the aforementioned conceptualization indicates the realization of the
relevant decision. However, the decision that is stated to be realized through an abrogated
