Abstract
Dying Twice and Being Resurrected Twice (Specific to the Verse 11 of the Surah Mu'min)
Death is the situation where the state of being alive disappears and the biological
activity and life ends. It is the opposite of the concept of life. However, There are many
verses about the resurrection after death in the Quran. Allah, Almighty, declares in the
Qur'an that he created death and life for testing the human being. The main purpose of
this is to test whether the person is sincere in the favors he has done and to reveal and reward those who behave better by obeying Allah’s orders and prohibitions. Different
concepts are used in the Qur'an for the stages of resurrection. It is rejected in many verses
of the Quran that the souls after death evolve and continue their existence in a new body.
In this study, what “To die twice and resurrect twice” means will be analyzed under the
light of the opinions about life and death declared in tafsirs.
