Abstract
Emotional Intelligence and Compassion Fatigue in Health Workers in the Context of Socio-Demographic Variables
In this study, it was aimed to examine the emotional intelligence and compassion
fatigue levels of healthcare professionals in terms of socio-demographic factors. Sociodemographic
variables aimed to be analyzed in the study; determined as gender, age,
marital status, educational status, profession, professional experience, institution and
unit. The research was conducted with 555 healthcare workers. Descriptive statistics and
analysis of differences were used to evaluate the data in the study. As a result of the analysis,
it was determined that the variables of gender and marital status did not create significant
differences in the emotional intelligence and compassion fatigue levels of the employees.
However, age, institution and professional experience and emotional intelligence; It was
observed that there is a significant difference in terms of compassion fatigue between age,
education level, profession, institution, unit and professional experience.
