Abstract
Transformational Leadership Innovative Business Behavior Group Cohesiveness
Transformational leaders create opportunities for group members to learn and
develop innovative ideas by means of understanding, appreciating, and supporting;
and group members can overcome the fear of challenging the status quo that results
in greater innovative attitudes. In short, transformational leaders who provide a
motivating environment, will also create an innovative atmosphere, and this will boost the possibility of group members’ making innovations (Feng, Huang & Zhang, 2016). Group
cohesiveness as that group property which is inferred from the number and strength of
mutual positive attitudes among the members of a group ( Lott ve Lott, 1965). The aim
of this study is to make research on the mediating effect of group cohesiveness on the
impact of transformational leadership attitudes on innovative working behaviour. Staff
of Tunceli State Hospital constitute the main mass of the study. As a result of the study, it
has been found out that transformational leadership and idealized impact and intellectual
encouragement - one of its subdimensions, have affected innovative work behaviour
meaningfully. In the study, the hypotheses that group cohesiveness has a mediating
effect between transformational leadership (idealised effect, intellectual encouragement,
inspirational motivation, individual interest) and innovative work behaviour, have been
rejected.
