Abstract
The Testing of an Approach to the Place of Education Phenomena in Cinematographic Narration (The Case of “Bal” Movie)
The cinema, which presents the trues about the life of our society in a fictional manner,is being affected by the society and, in a response, guides the society by influencing it in the way how it considers the various issues and how it presents these issues. In this respect one of the issues being taken by the cinema is the ducation. The cinema has always intertwined with the notion of education, both directly and indirectly. The education in movies may be presented as a goal to be achieved. In the same time movies may serve as a medium of the education.
The purpose of this work is to provide the conceptual framework of education
phenomena and to explain the relationships between the cinema, which is one form of mass
media, and the education in accordance to the characteristics, pros and cons, the content, the shape and the modes of the presentation of those relationships. In the end, “Bal” film, directed by Semih Kaplanoglu, is examined in the context of the cinema ducation relationships in order to discuss the influence of such a context on the audience.
