Abstract
Views of Candidates of Turkish Language Teachers on Classical Turkish Literature and Teaching of Classical Turkish Literature
Teachers on Classical Turkish Literature and teaching of Classical Turkish Literature.
With this purpose in mind, two different research questions were asked and the study
based on these questions was implemented. In the study, 48 candidate of Turkish
Language Teachers, chosen with the method of convenience sampling, studying in their
first grade year in the department of Turkish Language Teacher Education at the Faculty
of Education of Erzincan University were observed and used as the study group.
Unstructured interview form was used as data collection tool in the study in which
screening method was used based on the qualitative approach. The data obtained from
the interview form was analyzed with content analysis and presented in the tables. In the
study, some examples were given regarding the views of the students and evaluations were
made considering the results of the previous studies. In the light of these evaluations, it
was found out that candidates of Turkish Language Teachers think that classical Turkish
Literature is a significant part of Turkish Literature; it plays a crucial role in terms of
culture and future; classical Turkish Literature education has to be given in schools; and
there are some problems in teaching of Classical Turkish Literature. Finally, with reference
to the data obtained, some recommendations were made in the end of the study.
