Abstract
An Analysis of Prospective science teachers’ Mental Models About Light and Sound
The purpose of this study is to examine prospective science teachers’ mental models related to issue of light and sound.After a test with a total of 8 open-ended questions were developed, the data was collected from senior 39 prospective science teachers’ at School
of Education in Kahramanmaraş Sütçü ImamUniversity in Turkey in the academic year of
2014-2015. Case study was used in the current study. Data was collected using light and
sound unit consisting of eight open-ended questions contained in the joint achievements of
the junior class has benefited from a test. Study conducted with content analysis method.
Prospective teachers' answers to open-ended questions were divided into categories. The
results indicated that prospective science teachers’ it has been shown to have different
mental models.
