Abstract


The investigation of Effects to Learning Together Method with Modeling Based Learning Method on Constructivist Learning Environment
The aim of this study was compared the effects to learning together method with modeling based learning method on constructivist learning environment in teaching the“Material and Heat” unit of sixth grade of a middle school. This study was used triangulation research method. The sample of the study is composed of 72 students from sixth grade of a middle school in Erzurum. Research design of the study is semi experimental which pretest-posttest comparison group design. There are two groups for sixth classes. The one group (EG1) was used learning together method and the other group (EG2) was used learning together method with modeling learning method. The Constructivist Learning Environment Scale (CLS) was used for data collection tools in the quantitative section of this study. The Focus group interviews were used to data collection method in the qualitative section of this study. According to results of obtained CLS, Modeling based learning method has benefited from learning together method in the areas of thought sharing and resource use. In addition, according to the results obtained from the focus group interviews; Modeling based learning method was contributes to learning together method in developing students' mental perspective, experiencing confusion of thought, providing meaning in subjects and thoughts, learning to use learning difficulties and learning to use the knowledge they learn. According to the results of obtained this study, It could be said that the application of modeling-based learning with learning together method in the sixth grade was provided better application of learning together method than quality learning environments.
