Abstract


Opinions of School Working Team on Evaluation and Improvements of Values Education Practises
Schools have significant responsibilities for students to gain values education. Therefore, this research was done for evaluating the values education in secondary schools and improving the values education by the comments of the school study team. It is a qualitative research and a case study. The participants of this research are 9 secondary school teachers who are members of values education team in 2015-2016 education year. Criterion sampling method was used to identify the study group. In this research, semistructured interview technique was used which is one of the qualitative research methods. Content analysis was used for data analysis. This research is very important because it reflects the processes of education values to all the society members, such as; students, teachers, school administrators and student’s parents. According to the research it is found out that, the different activities prepared for values education should be applied in a common program. Most of the participants stated that the values education activities in schools are inadequate. It is also found that the main reasons which affect the values education negatively are; unrelated families, intensive curriculum at schools, media and technological improvements. It is attained by this research that the main reasons which affect the values education positively are field trips, good guidance, TV-theatrecinema activities, family education and parents visits.It is concluded that the participants think that different methods and techniques can be effective for internalization of values education.
