Abstract


The Efficacies of Educational Supervisors in Performing Their Supervisory Roles: A Meta-Synthesis Study
The aim of that research is, taking into consideration the researches done in Turkey related to the educational supervision in elementary schools, to determine the efficacy levels of education supervisors in performing their supervisory roles via a meta-synthesis method. The thesis and dissertations were scrutinized through inclusion and exclusion processes and ultimately 18 researches were chosen to be included in that study. In these researches, the findings that obtained through analysis and synthesis processes within the framework of meta-synthesis research steps, a meta-synthesis study was carried out, along with the determined themes. In terms of performing supervisory roles, the obtained results revealed that supervisors found themselves efficient at high level. However, they were found efficient at “low” level by teachers and “medium” level by school principals. Some recommendations have been made concomitant with the obtained results.
