Abstract


DETERMİNATON OF THE OPİNİONS OF THE 4TH GRADE TEACHER CANDİDATES ABOUT RELİGİOUS EDUCATİON
The purpose of this research is to determine the opinions of the 4th grade prospective teachers regarding the religious education. This study is composed of 50 class teacher candidates. The research is designed in the framework of the scientific research method and it was applied in the fall semester of 2017-2018 academic year. Semi-structured interview form, developed by researchers was used as data collection tool. The obtained datas were analyzed according to the content analysis steps. As a result of the research, it was concluded that teacher candidates were positive about religious education. Teacher candidates expressed that the child should obtain religious information to distinguish between right and wrong, good and evil, and to live an ethical life. Participants also argued that religious education should not lead to any prob- lem in giving to children, but because of its importance, educators should pay attention to the fact that their education and knowledge are not wrong. Another data obtained in the research is that the educators who teach religious education should be specialized in this area, educated at the level that children can understand, be processed through more concrete examples when the education is given and the subjects should be taken into the center of activities that the individual will actively participate in.
