Abstract


The Effect of Teaching the Nutrition Issue by Creative Drama Applications on Learning Level in Preschool Period
Societies want to have healthy citizens. Health is the balance of the individual's body, soul and social aspects. Our nutritional habits have a significant impact on our health. Factors such as food, food hygiene, food habits and seasonal food are the subjects of nutrition. A balanced diet is important for the health of the individual and for public health. Nutritional experiences acquired by individuals in pre-school period constitute the basis of their eating habits. This necessitates nutrition education in pre-school period. The aim of this study is to determine the effects of creative drama applications on the learning levels of five age group students who are educated in pre-school education level. Quasi-experimental method has been adopted to fulfill this goal. The study group consists of 5 age group students who are attending preschool education. In the study group, 18 students were randomly assigned to experiment group and 19 students were included in the control group. 6 weeks of creative drama training was provided for the children to learn the nutritional levels related to the nutrients in the food groups, to learn the rules of eating and cleaning. The education given to the control group was limited by the researcher to the lecture and question-answer technique. The raw data obtained from the research were transferred to computer environment and analyzed by using statistical package program.At the end of the analyzes, it has been concluded that creative drama applications are more effective than plain lecture and question and answer technique. As a result, it is recommended to use drama method in teaching biology and other science subjects especially in pre-school period due to positive effects on students.
