Özet
Bu araştırmada, ergenlerin benlik saygısı ile kariyer kaygısı arasındaki ilişkide gelecek
beklentisinin aracı rolü incelenmiştir. Araştırmada genel tarama araştırmalarına
giren ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemi İstanbul’da devlet
lisesine devam eden ve 14-18 yaş aralığında bulunan 306 ergenden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada
veri toplamak için Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği, Kariyer Kaygısı Ölçeği ve Gelecek
Beklentisi Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada ergenlerin benlik saygısı ve kariyer kaygısı
düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkide gelecek beklentisi aracı rolü Regresyon Temelli Bootstrapping
Tekniğiyle ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın bulgularında, ergenlerin benlik saygısı
ve gelecek beklentisi arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu ve benlik saygısının
gelecek beklentisi üzerinde anlamlı bir yordayıcı olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırmanın bir
diğer bulgusunda, ergenlerin benlik saygısı ve gelecek beklentisi ile kariyer kaygısı arasında negatif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu görülmüştür. Bununla birlikte, benlik saygısı ve gelecek beklentisinin ergenlerin kariyer kaygısı üzerinde anlamlı birer yordayıcılar olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırmanın sonucunda ergenlerin benlik saygısı ve kariyer kaygısı arasında gelecek beklentisinin aracı rolü anlamlı bulunmuştur.

Abstract
In this study, the mediating role of future expectations in the relationship between
adolescents' self-esteem and career anxiety was examined. The relational survey model,
which is included in the general survey research, was used in the research. The sample of
the study consists of 306 adolescents between the ages of 14-18 and attending public high
schools in Istanbul. Self-Esteem Scale, Career Anxiety Scale, and Future Expectation
Scale were used to collect data in the study. In the study, the mediating role of future
expectation in the relationship between the self-esteem and career anxiety levels of
adolescents was analyzed with the Regression-Based Bootstrapping Technique. In the
findings of the study, it was seen that there was a positive and significant relationship
between adolescents' self-esteem and future expectation, and self-esteem was a significant
predictor of their future expectation. In another finding of the study, it was observed that
there is a negative significant relationship between the self-esteem and future expectation
of adolescents and career anxiety. However, self-esteem and future expectations were
found to be significant predictors of career anxiety in adolescents. As a result of the
research, the mediating role of future expectation between adolescents' self-esteem and
career anxiety was found to be significant.
