The Relationship Between Marriage Adaptation, Child Breeding Attitude and Family Functionality
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between marital adjustment, child rearing attitude and family functioning of individuals with married and children. For this purpose, the model examining the causal relationship between variables was tested. The study group consists of 659 individuals with married and children (female n = 391; male n = 268) selected by a convenience sampling method. Research data were collected through Marital Adjustment Test (MAT), Family Assessment Device (FAD) and Parent Attitude Research Instrument (PARI). The analysis of the data was done using IBM SPSS 23 and AMOS 24 programs. In the analysis of data, correlational relationships between variables were calculated by Pearson correlation analysis. The causal relationship between the variables and the strength of the model that reveals the direction of this relationship was tested using the structural equation model path analysis. According to the results of the study, it is determined that there is a significantly negative relationship between child rearing attitude and family functioning; a significantly positive relationship between family functioning and marital adjustment. At the same time, child rearing attitude has a significant impact on family functioning and family functioning on marital adjustment.
